Ready for some pure Tallow goodness for your skin? We've got it! This all-natural, seriously skin-loving whipped formulation contains ONLY premium Tallow from CA pastured cows (hand-rendered with care), Shea Butter (steam distilled, no hexanes or other chemicals used in processing), pure Kokum Butter and premium Avocado Oil that has been lovingly infused with organic Calendula and Chamomile. Rich and luxuriously whipped, it's great for faces (avoid eye area of course), feet, arms, hands, legs, any and any super-dry skin or problem areas.

Due to the rich Tallow and butters used in this formula, it this is a “dense” whipped butter, so it will be semi-soft (but still very thick) at room temperature and closer to a thick whipped “cream cheese” texture if kept in the fridge. Simply use your finger or a small scoop to get some product out, rub it on your skin and immediately it will turn to a velvety texture as you massage it in. Although this whipped butter will absorb beautifully any time; it truly shines when applied just after showering (or when applied to the the face/hands/feet just after cleansing) to help “lock” in moisture. A little goes a long ways, we recommend that you experiment with a very small amount until you get used to the formula (especially if only using it for your face).

RECOMMENDED STORAGE: Refrigerate after opening for the best texture and shelf life. While it will still be a great skin-loving formulation if kept at room temperature, it will last longer if kept in the refrigerator (about 3 months at room temp/over a year refrigerated) and may separate at higher temperatures.

If you do take it out and about with you in the world, please take care not to leave the product in the hot sun or a hot car in summer. While it will still be usable once cooled, it likely will separate, and if the jar is not well closed and the car is hot enough you may return to a puddle!

This is a SEASONAL product in our shop and will be available at pop-up markets and through our website from approximately late Fall (depending on temperatures) through the first part of Summer ONLY. About our natural ingredients:

Tallow has a very similar lipid (fatty acid) profile to healthy human skin. Tallow is often thought of as a “skin superfood” and is a primary ingredient in many high-end moisturizing and skin-healing formulations, since it provides superior moisturizing benefits without blocking up the cell barrier like petroleum-based products are known to do. Specifically, it is high in Oleic Acid, Palmitic Acid and Stearic Acid – all known for their ability to penetrate the skin deeply and for various skin barrier, repair and regenerative functions. It's also full of fat-soluble Vitamins A, D, E, and K. It has an almost perfect 1:1 ratio of Alpha Linolenic and Linolenic Acids (also known as Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids), which may be useful for skin's immune response and anti-inflammatory functions. Palmitic and Palmitoleic acid (both found in Tallow) both decrease in our own skin as we age, are building blocks for skin's structure, and have good antimicrobial and skin smoothing properties.

Shea Butter is a natural fat from the nuts of the Karite Tree. Shea butter is high in vitamins A, E, F, & antioxidants. The soft, smooth texture and excellent properties for absorption make it a shoe-in for inclusion in any whipped body butter.

Kokum Butter is derived from the seeds of Garcinia Indica, a tree native to India. An extremely rich, hydrating butter; it is well-known for being one of the absolute best for helping extremely cracked or dry skin. It is similar to Cocoa Butter in that it has a uniform triglyceride composition. Unlike Cocoa Butter, however, it is non-comedogenic (meaning it is not known to block up pores). This makes it a better choice for preparations for the face or other sensitive skin areas. It has a very light to almost no scent; so it's great for those that don't want that noticeable “heavy Cocoa” scent.

Avocado Oil is rich in Vitamins A, B, D and E as well as lecithin, potassium, beta carotene and amino acids. It is great for individuals with sensitive skin or formulations for mature skin.

Calendula is a powerhouse from nature when it comes to any type of skin. Calendula, from the Marigold flower (here, infused into the Avocado Oil) is primarily known through the ages for it's skin-healing and nourishing properties. It may encourage natural collagen production and has potent anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. It is often well-tolerated for healing even among those with other sensitivities. It is especially useful for poorly-healing wounds – those exhibiting extreme dryness, tenderness, or inflammation; and for prevention of severe skin conditions.

Chamomile (also infused into the Avocado oil) is helpful in formulations for people with very sensitive skin and for those with inflammatory skin conditions such as Rosacea or acne. Various phytochemicals and flavonoids in Chamomile may help to soothe skin irritation and inflammation, while it also helps provide light hydration and help the skin heal. It contains high levels of an antioxidant known as apigenin.
